Two things that make a room timeless: A sense of history and a piece of the future.
Charlotte Moss

A sense a history can be a piece from your family, an heirloom or something found at a flea market.
It could be a mantel clock, a buffet or mirror.
Having a timeless piece in your space doesn’t dictate your style, a contemporary scheme will have soul with a vintage piece to warm the space and be a conversational piece.
A traditional scheme will benefit with the inclusion of a modern contemporary piece. A lamp or a floor rug make an ideal addition.
